I'm at least 29 years old,
from OR,US.
Over the last four years I have spent a lot of my time researching, reading and investigating all the information I could find about the so-called, "War On Drugs". Like many of you I have been concerned about the growing menace and related ills that are growing steadily and are associated with illegal drug activities. But in the last several years I have had to rethink my initial attitudes and feelings towards the subject and particularly on the "War On Drugs" as it has unfolded thus far. So many things don't make sense and as an American citizen I feel entitled to a full accounting and explanation to why this "War" hasn't ended after thirty-plus years and ONE TRILLION DOLLARS have been invested in it. I want to share some of the facts and figures that I have found out about this "War" and the effects on us, the American peoples. Please, take a few minutes and read.
---First I want to assure you that I am not advocating that anyone use illegal drugs; nor do I consider myself an authority as such, but I have common sense and I recognize a waste of money, lives, and efforts when I see it. I take full responsibility for every word in this site, but I also wish to say that most of the facts and figures have been gleaned from other's works. Since I am not a professional writer I beg you to bear with my occasional technical errors and ask you to focus on the information that is offered. I will try to put addresses and site buttons often so you can surf to the sources of information I've used.
---Newt Gingrich once quipped: "anyone trafficking in two ounces of marijuana should be given the death penalty" Ex-LA Police Chief, Daryl Gates said:"...casual drug users should be taken from the courtroom and summarily executed" Former Drug Czar, William Bennett has advocated public beheading of drug offenders. Is it possible that we are rapidly entering into a period of a complete totalitarian police state; where absolute power flows from wealth and any deviation from the officially mandated status quos means incarceration, torture and even death!? If we are to believe such powerful political figures as the above three, isn't it possible, shouldn't we be worried?
Federal prosecutors now have so much power that it is estimated as many as 30 percent of their convictions are of technically or literally innocent persons. They have almost limitless and total powers to suspend whatever parts of the Bill of Rights that they see fit, thanks to a Congress that is incapable of finding a proper solution to these problems on their own. What does the future hold? Will there be a new definition for: FREEDOM of Choice/INNOCENT until Proven Guilty/ Should politicians rule us through coercion? Is the "War On Drugs" worth losing the Bill of Rights?
Out country imprisons more of its own citizens than any other country in the world! For example, Oregon had 2 adult prisons in the early 60's; they now have 12 prisons, are building one more and have need for 3,4 more. They farm hundreds of their convicts out of state for lack of cells! Almost every state has had similar stories of their own. At the rate we are going, in fifty years, half of the US population will be incarcerated! Check it out at: http://www.drcnet.com and see for yourself!

I will be moving my belongings in shortly.
